Susie's Hope DVD Review & Giveaway

If anyone know my daughter, Olivia, they will know that she is obsessed with animals. She has always been obsessed with them and honestly it will surprise me if she one day doesn't become a vet or has nothing to do with animals. She is passionate about them and about caring for them and well it breaks my heart when I have to tell her no a lot when she asks to bring lost puppies and kittens home but I don't want to be one of those crazy cat ladies either.

Anyways, Susie's Hope DVD was perfect for Olivia and I to watch together. She fell in love with the movie immediately and honestly she took over it for a few days in which I didn't get to watch until she went to her dad's for the weekend because she took over it. I knew she would fall in love with the movie. It is based on a true story and it's based on how a woman, Donna Lawrence was attacked by a neighbors pitbull who she had been feeding and giving water and barely made it. She honestly was lucky to be alive after the attack. During her recovery, Donna and her friend made a gruesome discovery of a pitbull puppy who had been beaten and burned to the point of her ears were burned off and there was no hope given for the puppy to even survive. But Donna gave the puppy a name, Susie and gave her hope that not only she was going to make it but she was going to recover through this tragic attack on her ask well. It was through Susie that Donna started making progress on her recovery and soon they both started making a tremendous recovery together. Donna Lawrence even helped pass a law in North Carolina called "Susie's Hope" to help prevent other animals from ever having to take what happened to Susie. Susie, nor any other animal should ever be or have been treated this way and it breaks my heart that they are each and every day. We need to look back and see what we can do to help those out who can't take care of their animals to just give them up for adoption to those who want and need pets.

We adopted Yoda back in March and while at the time, living in the house we were living it, probably didn't sound like it was a good idea, has been the best thing for our little family. He is loving and yet he still has issues that we have to deal with but you know what, I don't know where he would be if we hadn't adopted him. We one day might adopt another dog and possible kitten for Olivia...but no worries not too soon. He's plenty of energy now and full of life and well he's enough to handle for now. Check out the trailer for Susie's Hope below...it's a tear jerker but let me say it's very motivational and makes me want to adopt more animals in the future!

  1. I find it amazing that she was able to over come her fear of dogs but not only that she was also saving one at the same time!!!
