Kirk Cameron's "Saving Christmas" Movie Reivew & Giveaway
Was Kirk Cameron your teenage heartthrob back in the day when he was on "Growing Pains?" He might have been mine a little but I have to say that I feel in love with him over the fact that he partnered up with Liberty University, the same school I attend now. Well he has a new movie coming out on November 14, 2014 called "Saving Christmas" and the movie was amazing! I was lucky enough to be able to view it before it came out in the theaters and it has become a new favorite Christmas movie for me. Just like any of his other movies that he's been in, this one has meaning and brings faith and hope to those who need it.
The movie, "Saving Christmas" is an engaging story about the biblical storyline of Christmas and what it truly is about. It's not about Santa but it's about Jesus and about reliving the holiday traditions that go along with the true meaning of Christmas. Sometimes we get all worked up into the commercialism of Christmas instead of looking past that and looking at the joy, the laughter, the family time and the holiday traditions that you get to relive or make with your friends and family. This is a movie that I need to take my daughter and husband to go see in the theater because it's an eye opener for us all. We all forget at times the real reason for Christmas and this movie is a reminder for us all. Kirk puts everything into perspective for everyone to understand which is something that I really enjoyed!!!
Another cool thing that I got to do last Wednesday is get to get on a Teleconference with Kirk Cameron. If you follow me on Twitter you may have realized how excited I was to listen to him and listen to him answer questions about his new movie and about his home life. I learned that he is just like any of us and yes he and his wife even homeschool their children because they felt it was the right thing to do! Just like we did with Olivia last year for 4th grade. Here is the link for the teleconference with Kirk Cameron and let me say his voice is just as dreamy as he is. I also learned that growing up he was atheist which really helped me learn more about who he was because now he is a Christian man and he loves the Lord.
The movie "Saving Christmas" comes out tomorrow, November 14, 2014 in select theaters and is out for only 2 weeks! So hopefully I will be able to get Jason to go see it while he is home one day.
