High Drama 2 Week 2!
I have often thought about my high school days and what has brought me to where I am now. To help me blossom out of being the super shy person that I was then to the outgoing person that I am now. I will say that I think the activity that helped me out the most was when I was in Marching Band. I never thought I would ever be in the Marching Band because when I lived in Maryland I thought I had it all. I was leaving the 9th grade heading into 10th grade and I was accepted onto the Pom Squad and I was going to still be doing my dancing during school too. Yes I love to dance and I do miss it often but it's funny when we moved down to North Carolina I was angry and so decided against dancing. Bad move on my part but that's ok now because I eventually found a group to where I felt welcome and could be myself. I moved into my house 2 days before school started in 1996 and I was feeling really overwhelmed with the major change. I knew no one at all. I felt like I was all alone and to make matters worse I got creamed on the first day of school. How awful was that? Well with me joining the marching band I learned out to work in different situations because I played the flute and for the marching season my 1st year I was in the pit instead. It wasn't my first choice but since I came in so late in season it was too late to change any of it at that point. I eventually blossomed into the outgoing Charlotte who wasn't afraid to say something and was even making new friends. My 11th grade year was a little different because right after marching season was over we found out my granddad had cancer. I of course didn't finish up marching my senior year but now that I think of it I wish I had. My granddad passed away in January 1998 and that was very hard for me to deal with but with all the friends I had made in the past year and a half I made it through. I can't thank the band teachers enough for sticking with me in coaching me on how to be the best that I can be. If you are still in high school I would definitely suggest getting into a club or sport or organization where you can be who you are and not be frowned upon at all. I started writing this because I wanted to say that after watching "High Drama 2" is an original web series, view it now on TheWB.com, I started to think back to high school and if there was one thing I could change it would be to do it all over only this time to have more fun than I did the 1st time! "I have been hired by Warner Bros WBWord to raise awareness for 'High Drama 2.'"
